Start 8:35am., at the "Kossut" statue, centre square, Bekescaba. 11c, overc. and l. wind. Finish 15:44pm. At city limit sign "Chisineu-Cris", in Romania. 21c, half clear and m. wind.

Romania !

A stage that allmost has the impressions and experienses of several months.

The start amidst Bekescabas two large churches, a run-out through the old quarter w. a delicate arcitecture style undisturbed by the industrial zone. Thendirect out on a new 4-lane highway. Truck-trains wizzing by and cars at 130 kmh; an underpass and suddenly: A bikepath !!
Not a common thing in E.europebut when its finally there - a retired hwy. gone bikepath. A highway for your running shoes only :-)

Near the border, the usual supermarkets.
Aldi is a palace of fashion here; We steer by Pennymarkt, Lidl and Bidronka (Cz & Pol.).

The border appear. The first passport control since the start in Nordkapp. While I reach for my pass in the stroller, pistolshots behind the next tollbooth !!! ? I duck.
It turns out to be a horsewhip beeing eagerly tested by another officer (! dont ask).

Then emptiness.

A feeling of 'Siberia'. And please dont misunderstand; its meant in the best way !

An open horizon that I have only seen on the Can. praries, the Australian desert and Siberia. And friendliness that I wish I knew from elsewhere (than Siberia). THIS CONTRY COULD BE VERY INTERESTING :-)

As finish a 4-star hotel among open wasteland and horsecarriges. 43euro. All incl.
