2009-09-17: Pictures9
Distance today: 32.0 km (Accumulated: 16117.8 km)
Elapsed time: 03:25:59
Country: Africa

Start 09:42am. at broken km-marker stone 30km N. of Mtwara [please see exact position at live gps], 100m after local cement factory, on the main rd./B7 to the border. 25c, half clear and l. wind. Finish 14:10pm. At white sign ".. Msimbati Border Station 40kms, <- " on the rd. to Mozambique. 33c, humid, clear and same.

35-40km to the border now !
Its a thrill to soon open the chapter of running through the 3. last of the african contries on the route. But also its a concearn: remoteness, unceartainness reg. supplies and the likelyhood of pushing the 40-50kg loaded Chariot runningstroller through the sandtracks in the North region (a supply-car seems unlikely at present) makes me a bit cautious ;-)

And with landmines present from the last war; caution perhaps isnt the worst thing. Although Food & Water is my main concearn by far !!

After I've crossed the border river (only possible by dugout kanoo) I'll know more about that.
The phonesignal may not be present the first few days so those who follow the run: please be patient :-)
Its a huge comfort, if danger out there, knowing that Im not alone !! Thanks :-)
