... Hills :-)

It was a hilly and enjoyable run
(despite the recent struggle w. motivation over the last couple of weeks !). And not only some nice hills to give the daily stages some variation - also a highway with a history:

Many in Europe and other overseas places probably know this particular road, "highway 66"; here in Usa where I am running now it goes under such names as "Main Street of America" or "The Mother Road" to mention a few of the more polite names ;-) During the early 19.century it was one of the main migration routes West and also later served as the main traffic vein' connecting East & West Usa.

By now its long since been replaced by a network of interstate highways, but it remains a historical and inspiring place to run ! And, I have to say - the drivers are a lot more carefull and curtious towards a lonely runner than I've become use to over here :-)

NB: For those familiar with its history its obvious that this particular streatch actually wasnt on the original, early "route 66" wich went from Lost Angeles to Chicago. Even though... also that part I've put a small running-shoe impression on: it was part of my American route when coming down from Canada towards Chicago and out to New York City during world run one back in 2004-2005.
