2009-12-25:
Distance today: 29.0 km (Accumulated: 19211.8 km)
Elapsed time: 03:15:18
Country: Africa

Start 11:18am. at entrance to "Siteki Hotel" in Siteki village, Swaziland. 25c, o.c. and l. wind. Finish 15:51pm. At exit sign "<- Lituba Lodge", on the main road to Lavumisa border/S. Africa. 38c, half clear, humid and same.

After 4 days of christmas holiday in friendly Siteki in Swaziland the run continues. Sarah and I took turns pushing the running-stroller while the other ran in front watching out for traffic (not so likely on Swazilands quiet roads :-) and for glass or thorns on the road wich could puncture the tyres.

The stroller weights in at about 40kg total w. both of our luggage, a tent and pleanty of water for the hot & humid weather. The last thing you want is for its tyres to puncture and leave you w. little repair options in the baking sun, while you still need to complete the stage and run to the accomodation.

And ofcourse it punctured..
We had 15km of merry pushing, before the fragile front tyre gave in and went flat. From then on 14 interesting km running and wrestling w. the 40kg load and trying to pump the tyre again every few km. All fun from start to finish ;-)

But eventually we got through it ! :-) Not least due to Sarah who is one of the most determined fighters Ive met in 26years of long distance running & training in various contries.
